Compact 9mm Easy Button?

So earlier last week in the thread ‘What did you buy recently’, I posted my new to me Hellcat Pro Comp. Was really stoked to get it. Came with a Hogue grip on it and that wasn’t my cup o tea so I sent it off to a forum member to try on his Hellcat. My first few shots with it was disappointing. The grip just didn’t agree with me and a hundred or so rounds later I still wasn’t happy with it. I had to REALLY concentrate on my hold to not throw a shot.

My issues were the ‘furring strip’ grip on it and the lack of anywhere I could reliably place my support thumb and feel comfortable. I have larger hands and as nice as the pistol looks, it just wasn’t love at first shot; in fact, I just didn’t like it. I threw on some HandleIT grips early on and they felt better, but it didnt translate into anything noteworthy at my range.

I’ve used a Gas Pedal before and liked it, but saw a video comparing the Gas Pedal to a product from Blacksteel USA called the Grip Control. Now let me be upfront… the $110 price tag on this thing wasn’t easy to swallow, but I figured I’d wasted more on other frivolous crap so I ordered one. Came in today and I loaded up a couple mags and headed outside. Unlike the Gas Pedal, this unit is spring loaded and will fold in making it an easier fit for holsters. Some may require a bit of heating and modification, but I’m good with that. Cant speak to the longevity of the spring and if it will fail at some point, but the company is a US company just over in TN with a lifetime warranty so I’m not overly concerned.

Either I just magically found my rhythm with this Hellcat overnight and/or had a lucky session….or this Grip Control is effing magic. At least for me. Really impressed with it. I just shot like I normally would and first several shots, I simply could not miss. Half silhouettes, spinners, whatever… ranges from 10 to 20 yards. With my confidence up, I fired a few shots at some spinners I had out at 45 yards. I’d love to say I hit every one of them, but that’d be some BS, BUT… I was making enough hits that I was tickled with it. Back to the normal range targets and again, couldn’t miss. YMMV, but for me, this was the best $110 I’ve spent on a pistol accessory. Hopefully it just wasn’t a lucky session. With my range here at my house, it’ll be easy to verify.
